Glass is an astonishing substance. Strong but invisible it enables us to drive cars comfortably with the wind, road debris and even bugs safely kept away from our faces even as we barrel down the highway.
And what about windows in buildings? How joyful to have sunlight and views of the world available from inside our office and homes.
But I think I’m most struck by all of this goodness being accomplished precisely because the glass itself is invisible. It’s inspiring and challenging to imagine ways of accomplishing so much good without making a show of it.
